The end of yet another project…

Life has been incredibly busy this last week or so.  I’ve been working really hard on my architecture project, therefore explaining the lack of posts.  Not to mention studying for finals and planning our semester break trip.  It’s been stressful…but…

Finished arch project and felt pretty good about it. The emotions of going through a project are weird. You’re inspired then mad and frustrated and at one point or another you wonder why you’re doing this at all. You hate your design and think its dumb and are convinced that your professors will hate it. And at one point in the final stretch you start believing in yourself again. You start to fall in love with your design and alls well. Now sometimes no one else will like your project and because of circumstances beyond your control you end up heartbroken over something you love. Other times you get really positive feedback – like you had solved a lot of the problems you were struggling with and that you had developed your idea and progressed. And it’s these moments when your faith in architecture is restored. You could work on this project forever! All you want to do is develop develop develop! This could be even more of a real building than it is now (which doesn’t say a whole lot but still)! And then you remember that you’ve only slept for 20 minutes in the last 40 hours and you decide that this project is done at least for a VERY long time and though you love it (now) it’s time to say goodbye. And say hello to binge watching “How I Met Your Mother” until you really can’t hold your eyes up any longer.
Today was exhausting…but good.
