I could make this incredibly creative, but I’m not really feeling it today, since I’m catching up on the last few days of Postaday.
I could imagine though, if I were to switch places with ANYONE, it would give a new perspective on life. There’s been the saying of “walking in someone else’s shoes” and that’s exactly what this would be. I could see the world from a different perspective. The world today from a child’s point of view. The wisdom of an elderly person. The hardships that people face all around the world, wealthy or poor, minority or majority. The place we occupy in the world shapes who we are as people. Everything from where we were born, to where we grew up, where we went to school, and where we live and work, shapes us and our ideas. Being able to live a day in those “shoes” would give a whole new perspective to the world we live in. I think it’s important that we all try to mentally put ourselves in those “shoes” to better understand people. If you try to look at something from their perspective rather than your own, you can better understand them and can shape your views to include a broader scope of the real world. If more people did this, there would be less bickering and fighting, less discrepancies between politicians, and just a better general understanding of the people we are around and represent.
PS. For some reason, the tags suggestion on WordPress came up with Leslie Knope! Not sure what in this blog made it think that, but either way, I love Parks and Recreation!
